Stuck on the M1

Our journey to France didn’t start very well this morning. We pulled on to the M1 and straight into traffic. The motorway was closed and it took us four hours to reach the next junction and come off.

We missed our planned crossing on the Channel Tunnel, but we were able to get on the next train after we finally arrived.

I love going on the Tunnel, it is funny being on a train and in a car at the same time!

We were finally in France!

We made a stop at some services for coffee.

The services seemed to be in a nature reserve. It would have been nice to explore if we had more time and it wasn’t raining!

We arrived at our hotel near Rouen about 8pm and were already quite tired.

We went straight out to dinner at Buffalo Grill where we all ate some salad and had a very tasty espresso.

I am ready for bed now and excited about getting to Le Mans tomorrow.
