As you know, Paul, Zoë and I went to Paris to see the final stage of the 2012 Tour de France, so we could be there for the first ever win by a British rider.
In the distance here you can just see the 1km to go banner. This picture was taken a few hours before the race.
Before the cyclists arrive, the Caravan of promotional vehicles comes through. There were loads of them, here are a couple of my favourites. I took many pictures and won’t bore you with all of them.
Here is the Peloton finally racing on the streets of Paris. We had been waiting for hours, but it was worth it.
You can clearly see Bradley Wiggins in this shot. In case you didn’t know he is the one in yellow!
The atmosphere was great even though we were not on the Champs-Élysées.
The rider behind me in the darker green is Peter Sagan, he won the green jersey.
Sagan is Slovakian, we were joined on our trip by our own Slovakian, Paul’s colleague Michal. He got a t-shirt to commemorate this achievement. I would have liked a yellow one, but they don’t make them that small.
This is a green jersey sponsor truck.
It was so exciting to be in Paris when Bradley Wiggins won the Tour and Mark Cavendish won the final stage for the fourth time in a row! Unfortunately I didn’t get a good picture of Cav so I will leave you with this picture Zoë took of Wiggins, Cavendish and Sagan.
