America Day 3: New York

We started our day with pancakes, perhaps slightly more than Zoë could eat, but she managed!

We then got really wet in some torrential rain so went back to the apartment to change and get our waterproofs. I was very glad we did as I am quite absorbent!

We then got a ferry to Manhattan going under Brooklyn Bridge which was cool.

We walked to Battery Park so we could see the Statue of Liberty.

Zoë really wanted to go to Purl Soho, I could see why when we got there. It is full of yarn and fabric. Zoë spent lots of money!

We walked along the High Line. This a very interesting as it is raised so you get a different view from ground level and it used to be a railway line. Now it is a public park.

We went to see the outside of the diner that was used in Seinfeld.

In the evening we went to Citi Field to see my first ever baseball game. We also saw Flushing Meadow, as it is over the road. I had a hotdog. I enjoyed seeing the Mets, the Diamondbacks looked like they were going to win easily but the game went on for ages, going to extra innings. We left at midnight after five hours and before it finished. The Mets finally won in 13!
