For the Easter weekend Zoë, Pauly and I went on holiday, we stayed near Gloucester. On our way we went to Cheltenham. We had posh afternoon tea for our lunch. Lots of tasty sandwiches and scones.
When we were walking around the town I spotted a gold post box! I have enjoyed finding these since the London 2012 Olympics.
We stayed at Bowden Hall Mercure Hotel. It was very nice and had lovely grounds, we even saw ducks and rabbits!
On Sunday we went to Ribble Steam Railway in Preston. We got to ride on a steam train!
There was also a museum with lots of interesting things to look at.
We really liked the massive blue DELTIC.
Ater our disappointment at Carlisle United loosing 6-1 on Saturday we went to Blackpool. We considered going to the Pleasure Beach, but it was quite expensive and was only open for another hour once we got there.
Instead we had a nice walk along the sea front towards Blackpool Tower.
Once we had built up a good appetite we went for fish and chips.
It was a lovely evening and made us feel like we were on holiday!
This weekend we travelled to Preston for a last minute weekend away, and so Paul and I could to to see Carlisle United play Preston North End.
We parked at the Famous Bus Station.
We had some lovely tea and toasties at the Mystery Tea House.
A little bit later we had peanut butter flavoured Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Paul and I then made our way to the football.
Unfortunately Carlisle lost 6-1, so it wasn’t the best day!
On Friday night we accidentally had mexican takeaway with Amy and Barney. The food was good, I ate way too much!
I also had fun looking at Amy’s shelves of little things. It is like a gallery of stuff just the right size for me!
The next part of our adventure was a trip to Melrose. On the way we saw a big bridge.
We met Paul’s family and went for lunch. We were celebrating his Mum’s birthday.
After lunch we went for walk, it was trying to rain, but we still had a nice time.
We stayed in a fancy hotel in Melrose, it was very luxurious.
We had more nice food in the evening.
In the morning we had breakfast, I like breakfast in Scotland, you get potato scones!
A couple of weeks ago we went for a weekend away taking in many exciting locations. Our first evening was spent in an Ibis hotel just outside of Preston. The next day we visited Keswick.
As usual we found a lovely cafe for lunch, Zoë and I shared a very tasty mushroom and pesto lasagne.
After a lovely afternoon shopping in Keswick we headed to our second destination, Glasgow. We went to see Chvrches in the evening. Paul and I really enjoyed ourselves, but Zoë isn’t so keen on them.
We didn’t spend much time in Glasgow as we had to leave by 10am the next day to get to our next stop, more about that next time!
Sometimes I have mini adventures that I don’t get to write about here on my blog, if you want to keep track of all my adventures, big and small, you can follow me on Twitter as well. For example, I am currently on a train!
You can find me as @TheKnittedMan
What a weekend! It is nearly Easter and we woke up to loads of snow on Saturday and Sunday.
On Sunday Zoë and Paul took me to the NEC with them as they were volunteering at a craft show. They were getting people to help knit a massive chain.
The chain was like a cosy blanket for me when I sat in it, just what I needed on such a cold day!
