We had a shopping trip to Cirencester a couple of weeks ago. It was a grey day, but at least it didn’t rain.

We started our visit with some coffee and cake.

We always enjoy a trip to m.a.d.e, they have lots of pretty things.

We picked up some dinner at the farmers market.

No trip to Cirencester would be complete without a good mooch around the antiques centre.

Family Weekend

Last weekend we went to visit Zoë ‘s family. This meant a shopping trip to Brighton and picnicking!

A trip to Snoopers Paradise is always so much fun.

Lunch from Hell’s Kitchen was yummy! We had a big salad.

We did lots of shopping in the North Laines.

On Sunday we had a picnic on Ashdown Forest. It was grey and misty so we didn’t feel like going for much of a walk.

Sunday Driving

Our car went in for a service and we had a courtesy car for a few days, a brand new Boxster S! We went for a little outing so we could see what it was like.

We drove to Baileys Home Store near Ross on Wye.

It was a gorgeous autumn day.

We had a short walk in Ross on Wye before driving back home.

We enjoyed the car and even had the roof down part of the way, but Pauly prefers his 911 even if it isn’t quite so new!

Zoë went to visit her sister in Sussex. We went on a shopping trip to Brighton. It was a beautiful day and the perfect weather for shopping!

We stopped for a picnic lunch in the Pavilion gardens.

We had a small detour on the way home to have another mini picnic and look out over the Sussex countryside.

Zoë and Pauly went to Oxford for a couple of days to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. I, of course, went with them.

We traveled by train and had a pleasant journey.

The first thing we did was have some coffee at Ratio Cafe.

We did a bit of shopping and then had lunch at George Street Social. Zoë and I had pancakes.

The weather was wonderful and we enjoyed exploring in the sunshine. We went to the Covered Market, Objects of Use, and the Shop at the Old Fire Station.

We checked into our hotel, Malmaison, which which used to be a prison!

Our room had a little balcony with excellent views.

We did some more exploring in the late afternoon sun.

We had ramen noodles for dinner. The steamed buns were excellent!

The next day was grey, damp and a bit chilly. I prepared myself with a big breakfast!

We went to the Ashmolean Museum.

Next we went to the Museum of the History of Science. A very interesting museum with lots of cool brass instruments!

Zoë spent ages in Blackwell, she does love a bookshop!

We finished our trip with pizza at Franco Manca.

We had a brilliant time and look forward to going back again soon.

Zoë and Pauly took me to Ludlow for a day out. It took quite a while to get there so we started with some lunch.

We walked around doing some shopping and enjoying all the old buildings.

The Feathers Hotel is very impressive!

We finished our day out with some coffee and cake.

Stony Stratford

On Saturday we went to Stony Statford so Pauly could visit The Climbers Shop in search of a new Patagonia jacket. He tried on all of them and in the end he found one he liked!

We had a walk around the town, it was pretty and the weather was just right. We particularly enjoyed Odell’s hardware shop!

As Stony Stratford is only just outside Milton Keynes we headed in that direction for lunch. We had burgers at Byron and then had a look in a few shops before going home.

Summer Holiday in Sussex

We went on a little holiday to stay with Zoë’s family in Sussex. We did lots of things!

We went shopping in Lewes on a grey and overcast day.

Had a picnic on Firle Beacon and enjoyed the views, it was sunny, but really windy.

Always need to visit Brighton!  We did some shopping and went to the beach.

Took a trip to see the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle statue in Crowborough.

I enjoyed a massive piece of cake!

On the way home we stopped at Polesden Lacey on our way home. We had some tasty lunch while we were there.

Eating in Brighton

Last week we went to Brighton to celebrate Zoë’s birthday. We managed to eat a lot of food. And Zoë did lots of shopping. We started our trip at the seaside.

We had some sandwiches for lunch and enjoyed the sunshine.

Then we walked along the sea front and saw the West Pier. Then we walked into town.

We stayed at the Mercure Hotel, it looks pretty grand from the front.

After an afternoon of shopping we went for a big dinner at Food for Friends. It was really yummy and lots of fun.

Then we needed lots of sleep to recover from our busy day.

We started all over again with breakfasthte next morning!
